Volunteer Training
Initiative (VTI)
Experts driving the future of Development Cooperation
The Voluntary Training Initiative (VTI) connects experienced experts with local organisations/institutions around the world, promoting knowledge exchange, skills development, and international cooperation.
What is the VTI?
The Voluntary Training Initiative (VTI) is an informal network that connects highly qualified experts with local organisations/institutions worldwide. It facilitates short, in-person training sessions, often during missions or travels, to promote knowledge exchange, skills development, and international cooperation—all at minimal cost.
Who Can Benefit?
Experts: Skilled professionals eager to share knowledge and raise professional qualifications through voluntary training.
Institutions/Organisations: Local organizations worldwide seeking to improve their skills and knowledge by hosting expert-led training.
ICA World: The facilitator that supports the initiative by connecting experts and institutions and ensuring smooth coordination.
How does it work?
Experts volunteer to deliver one- or two-day training sessions pro bono. ICA World facilitates these connections.
Institutions/Organisations interested in expanding their technical knowledge select from available courses and submit an application.
Experts then connect directly with institutions to share training details, arrange logistics, and deliver the sessions.
Why choose VTI?
VTI offers a unique opportunity to share and gain high-quality knowledge through flexible, short-term training sessions with minimal administrative burden.
For experts, it’s a chance to expand their professional network, contribute to global development, and grow personally and professionally.
For institutions/organisations, VTI provides access to specialized expertise that enhances skills and promotes sustainable development—often at little to no cost.
